Alphamin Resources has commenced deep diamond drilling on the Mpama North target on its wholly owned Bisie tin prospect in east-central Democratic Republic of Congo. Two rigs are being used to both test continuity of mineralisation down to 400 metres below surface and provide bulk samples for metallurgical testing. A total of 4,400 metres of drilling is planned in this phase of work.

Alphamin published a maiden NI43-101 resource for Mpama North (previously known as Gecomines) last November of 4.0 million tonnes at 3.5 per cent Sn for 141,200 tonnes of contained tin. This was focussed on mineralisation between 50 and 250 metres, but the best grades were found at depth. A provisional economic assessment of the project, likely to be based on bulk underground mining, has been delayed until the distribution of mineralisation is better understood.
