Kasbah Resources has announced first exploration drilling results from its Bou El Jaj (BLJ) project, located 15 kilometres south west of its Achmmach project in Morocco. This initial 8,000 metres of drilling work was aimed at identifying shallow (less than 80 metres below surface) tin mineralisation that could be mineable by low-cost open pit methods. Although three of four prospects within BLJ did not meet expectations, one was identified as a target for further exploration. At the Ain Karma prospect an exploration target of 0.5 – 1.0 million tonnes of ore at 0.3% – 0.5% tin (1,500 – 5,000 contained tin) was defined.

In a statement Kasbah Managing Director Wayne Bramwel l said: “BLJ is a key piece of Kasbah’s expanding regional footprint in Morocco. With a meagre budget the Kasbah exploration team has identified a prospective shallow target at Ain Karma that warrants further assessment. It is early days at BLJ but it is clear that systematic exploration, as has been completed at Achmmach, could unlock additional shallow and deeper targets from this virgin tin-field.”

However the company emphasised that its prime focus is Achmmach, where drilling will be completed in the current quarter, feeding into a definitive feasibility study due in the fourth quarter of this year. Once the Achmmach drilling is finished, a review of all shallow and deeper exploration targets across Kasbah’s Moroccan targets will be undertaken.
