Stellar Resources has published a JORC resource estimate for the St Dizier deposit adjacent to its Heemskirk project in Tasmania. Indicated and inferred resources amount to 2.26 million tonnes at 0.61% tin (13,800 tonnes contained tin) which could be mined as an open pit. The three main deposits at Heemskirk contain some 71,500 tonnes of tin which would be mined as an underground operation. In a statement the company noted that the St Dizier deposit could potentially extend the mine life of the Heemskirk to 9 years – a 30% upgrade.

Stellar CEO Peter Blight said “St Dizier could add significant value and flexibility to the Heemskirk Tin Project as either early stage feed or supplemental production to the underground operation. It is located in a previously worked alluvial tin field next to a sealed road and power line. In addition, the potential for additional resources at St Dizier will be tested with diamond drilling planned to start in March 2014.”
