The European Partnership for Responsible Minerals (EPRM) is a multi-stakeholder initiative, set up in 2016, as an accompanying measure to the EU Responsible Minerals Regulation. The EPRM also supports projects that enable artisanal and small-scale mines (ASM) to produce more responsibly and helps them to access formal markets at local and international levels. Since January 2021, the ITA has contributed in the role of EPRM Governing Board Member and Chair of its Upstream Working Group.

On Monday 26th, 2021 at 10:00-11:00 CEST, the ITA will moderate and represent the voice of the tin sector in the virtual EPRM Upstream Partner Session: ASM Support in Relation to the EU Responsible Minerals Regulation. We will be joined by speakers representing government, industry and civil society from the 3TG sectors including the European Union Department for International Partnerships (DG-INTPA), Pact, the Africa Centre for Energy and Mineral Policy, Valcambi and Solidaridad. The session will highlight why support for the ASM sector is important in relation to the EU Responsible Minerals Regulation and how projects are contributing to it on the ground.
