Indonesian police have closed the three largest private tin smelters on Bangka island, for breaching mining regulations and not paying royalties and taxes.
The three smelters were reported to be operated by Jaya Abadi, CV Dona Kembara Jaya and CV Bangka Putra.
Metal Bulletin reports industry sources saying that at least 2,400 tpm of tin will be taken off the market.
