There has been a strong recovery in Indonesian exports in September, following a drop the previous month due to low prices and religious holidays. The tonnage inspected prior to shipment by surveying companies working for the trade ministry was 9,874 tonnes in September, up from 5,646 tonnes in August.

The cumulative volume in the first nine months of this year amounted to 71,133 tonnes, down by 2.9% relative to January-September last year. The rolling 12-month average tonnage of tin checked for export dropped below 90,000 tonnes in August for the first time since May 2009, when the industry had been hard hit by the global financial crisis, but bounced back to close to 94,000 tonnes in the year to October.
