Australian based tin explorer, Aus Tin Mining, has turned producer with the announcement that production of tin concentrate has commenced from the company’s Granville Tin Project in Tasmania.

The company acquired the Granville project in April 2016 and have re-commissioned the processing plant at the site. Adjustments have been made to the processing circuit to treat pre-existing tailings material, which has tin grades ranging from 0.8%Sn to 3.3%Sn. This development makes Aus Tin only the second tin producer on the ASX. All tin concentrate produced at the site will be purchased by the global trading house, Traxys.

Aus Tin CEO, Peter Williams, commented “Having now commenced production at Granville, it is our intention to ramp‐up production and in due course exploit the high tin grades in the open pit (up to 7m @2.65%Sn) generated from our 2015 drilling program.
