Cornish Tin & Lithium

Cornish Tin & Lithium Limited is a private British mineral exploration and development company working on the historic tin mining district in Cornwall, United Kingdom, having discovered high-grade tin deposits and a hard-rock lithium field. The company holds mineral rights for more than 14% of the county of Cornwall.

The Vor & Greater Vor Project

The company’s flagship tin project is Great Wheal Vor, covering 26 former producing mines known historically as “the richest tin mines in the world”. These include Wheal Vor and Wheal Metal, and company drilling has identified 28 high-grade tin targets.

Cornish Tin & Lithium has discovered eight new tin lodes, including those with peak tin grades of 6.28% Sn and 5.63% Sn. A high-grade tin system located below the historic extent of the Great Wheal Vor workings has been identified with the potential to be approximately 3 times larger than the historic workings which saw total production of around 45,000 tonnes of tin and bringing the company the ‘Exploration Discovery of the Year’ award at Resourcing Tomorrow in 2024.

The company is currently continuing its drilling campaign at the project to continue to constrain mineralisation at the newly-discovered tin system.

The Tregonning Project

The Tregonning Tin-Lithium Project is focused on hard-rock lithium in a G5 granite, also holding significant tin, which has the potential to be one of the largest mica-granite lithium fields in Europe.

The company acquired mineral rights in February 2025 and has undertaken exploration drilling in 2026 confirming the continuity of the lithium field over more than 3 km.

The Phoenix Project

Cornish Tin & Lithium’s Phoenix project targets a group of 24 former producing tin and copper mines, historically ranked third in Cornwall for total metal output. The mines saw head grades of up to 6.5% Sn prior to closure in 1914 due to the outbreak of the First World War.

The company has digitized historical mine plans and records and identified multiple high-grade tin targets.
