Following the success of recent capital raising efforts worth Au $2.1 million, Elementos Ltd. has announced plans to progress the development of its Cleveland projects in Tasmania.

Elementos has appointed Tim McManus as Chief Operating Officer to advance the development of its plans to treat tailings and re-open the old Cleveland mine. Additionally, commencement of an advanced metallurgical testwork program at ALS Metallurgy Burnie has been announced. The aim of the program is the optimisation of recovery, operating cost and concentrate grade to improve the process flowsheet of the Cleveland tailings operation.

It was also reported that environmental permitting for the tailings rehabilitation project is near completion. The Development Proposal and Environmental Management Plan (DPEMP) has entered its final stages, where it will be updated by results from the metallurgical testwork program and continuing surface and groundwater monitoring testing before submission in 2015.

Managing Director Calvin Treacy said he believes these announcements show the company’s “commitment to move from developer to operator as quickly as possible”. The Cleveland tin mine and tailings projects have anticipated annual tin production of 1,900 and 1,000 tpy respectively. The company is confident that development approval will be granted in 2015.
