South Korea’s Public Procurement Service has announced its third tender this year for refined tin, Reuters reported. The agency is seeking 100 tonnes of 99.9% tin and 100 tonnes of 99.85% tin for arrival in Incheon port in October and November. The PPS is also inviting offers for 2,000 tonnes of copper. All the tenders will close on 13 July.

In previous tenders in 2016, the agency bought 100t of tin in June and 200t in March, in both cases buying MSC tin via Korean traders. Purchase volumes by the state organisation, which provides a purchasing and stockpiling service for small and medium sized enterprises, appear to be running below previous year’s levels of around or above 2,000 tpy in the recent past.
