Driving Progress Towards a Low-Carbon Future

As part of its commitment under the TIN2030 strategy, ITA is working alongside members to support the tin industry’s transition towards a lower-carbon future. Recognising the importance of both industry-wide action and individual company progress, ITA and its members are focused on strengthening our understanding and measurement of greenhouse gas emissions, improving transparency across the tin value chain, and identifying practical opportunities to support low-carbon progress across the industry. To support this work, ITA has established a dedicated Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Working Group which provides a collaborative platform between ITA and its member companies to strengthen communication, improve participation and transparency, support more accurate and consistent data collection for LCA work, and provide a forum for broader climate change and low-carbon related workstreams. The Working Group plays an important role in ensuring industry data remains representative of current practices, while supporting continuous improvement in environmental reporting and the development of longer-term industry approaches related to climate change and low-carbon strategies.
