Group’s Mission

Launched in July 2025, the Responsible Tin Network (RTN) has created an important platform for collaboration among key actors across the entire tin supply chain. Participants include manufacturing companies using tin in their products, smelters extracting and processing tin ore, and traders facilitating the movement of tin. The group’s goal is to work together to address complex sustainability challenges and key ESG issues.

Building Momentum

Since the launch, the Network has laid a strong foundation by identifying shared challenges, ranging from audit complexities to increased regulatory demands, and setting priority topics around traceability and transparency. Regional case studies have provided valuable insights into on-the-ground practices and challenges.

Recent discussions have explored consensus on what practical transparency could look like, applying risk-based due diligence inline with the OECD Minerals Guidance and ITA’s Tin Code principals. The group has also discussed how to improve and foster shared responsibility throughout the tin supply chain.

What’s Next?

The RTN is shifting from broad discussions to action-driven collaboration, with upcoming sessions concentrating on solutions to critical issues affecting tin industry stakeholders. This will drive momentum for impactful partnerships and progress in 2026.
